Lots of blooms, but no veggies?
My squash and zucchini are both producing lots of flowers, but I have not seen any veggies developing. Any ideas of what is going on, and what I can do to fix it?
Re: Lots of blooms, but no veggies?
When those plants first start blooming, they produce a lot of boy flowers and then they start producing girl flowers. However, if it's been like 3 weeks+ of all flowers, no fruit, you have a pollination issue and you may want to play match maker.
First, find a boy flower. These don't have a bulge at the end of the flower (that's what girl flowers look like). Take the pollen from the boy flower & brush the inside of the girl flower with it. Also, plant things to attract pollinators so you won't have to do this anymore!
Actually, male flower can pollinate a female flower on the same plant. More plants just give you a better chance of having males & females going at the same time.
I had one zucchini plant last year and it produced a ton of zucchini.
