So I stopped bcp about 2weeks ago. I was extremely regular before the pill, but that was 12 years ago. About 2 years ago I would have severe right side pain in between periods. I had multiple ultrasounds and nothing was ever found. My doctor decided to switch pills and it stopped. Last night it came back like a vengeance! It started at 9 and was gone by 12:30. The pain was so bad at first that I was doubled over and crying. I could barely walk.
I see my obgyn on June , so I'll mention it, but does anyone else have other ideas? The doctor never found any cysts last time this happened. I had my appendix removed 5 years ago, but the pain is always on the right side.

I have pain during ovulation, it usually lasts anywhere from half an hour to 3 hours. It can get as bad as period cramps, but usually no worse. Do you know if it's for sure happening when you should be ovulating?

Perhaps you have Mittleschmerz (spelling?), which is ovulation pain. Think of your ovem in a little bubble going towards the outer edge of your ovary, then busting out with fireworks or something. Then your orary hurts. It's also why you only feel it on one side at a time. I have it too. It's like an alarm clock if you're TTC. I just take some ibuprofen, and it dulls the pain away. 20% of woman experience this. When I'm off of my birth control, I get this pain on day 16 of my 30 day cycle. Try not to worry. Just becareful with sex and take some pain medication.
