We are home!

DH, E, and I went down to San Ramon for the weekend for my Lions Convention. It is actually going on through Sunday afternoon but we couldn't afford to stay 2 nights. The main reason I wanted to go was to walk in the parade Saturday morning that presented all the club presidents for this year. We bring the club banners and someone walks with the banner behind us. Here is the funny part. My club has 4 banners, 3 of them have our club name on it while the 4th has the name of our Lioness club we sponsored 30 years ago. Guess which banner I took with me. Yep, the Lioness Club one. So at 6am this morning I am laughing at the irony of it all. The District Governor was laughing at me and just shaking his head. This will make a great story & picture for my scrapbook. LOL!

Several of my members got some top awards and I am so proud of them. The DG gave me an award this afternoon too. My Region Chair nominated me for the Blankets project and because I have had such a hard year as President. I wanted to cry.

Oh, and there was a costume contest Friday night, I dressed E in her Lion costume and I was the Lion Tamer. We won Second place, we should have won first but the visiting DG and her spouse won. I was teasing that they jibbed us out of the blue ribbon. Everyone loved E, and thought she was the cutest thing there. She loved playing with the other kids there.

At one point the DG was talking and he paused for a second, all you hear from the back was E screaming, "NO NO NO!!"  He said, Well! Alright then! and laughed. It was a great weekend, no sleep at all but E did great and so did DH. I am glad to be home now and can be lazy tomorrow. :)
