saw your post about going for IF treatment. I wish you the best of luck and hope that your journey is a short one. If you ever need any advice or want to talk, please feel free to contact me. I know it's so hard and can be pretty invasive, but the end result is totally going to be worth it!
They also have boards on the bump dealing with T-TTC and Infertility that were SO helpful in learning information. Also, I became very knowledgeable while going through treatment since I researched every little thing to the gills. So if you need help analyzing your results, let me know!
Re: *Elf*
Thanks L. I've been on the Bump boards and gathered some info.
I decided to take Smilee's advice and wait to start Clomid until we meet with the RE and make sure it's the right thing to do for us. My Ob made it sound like it was no big deal and should be the first thing you do, but after doing a lot of reading about the possible side effects over the past few days, DH and I decided there was no way I should take that stuff without monitoring. Our RE appt is June 1st.
Always missing my Mommy (1954-2010) and Daddy (1943-2012)
TTC since 2009 ; BFP 9/13/10 = MC 10/21/10
DX = DOR/POA (AMH=1.1; AFC=4-5)
Surprise BFP 8/31/11 while waiting to cycle for IVF
Welcomed our little miracle 5/7/12
Totally butting in....
I am so glad you are waiting on the clomid. I know a month seems like forever, but you'll be so much happier ( as if any of this is happy) doing this under an RE's care.
Good luck, hon.
totally agree with smilee; it's the right decision. I've read lots of horror stories of people who weren't monitored on clomid. My last (and positive!) cycle I was doing injects and was in for monitoring EVERY OTHER DAY for over a week (*sigh*). Since injects are notorious for producing lots and lots of follicles, they were very careful.
If you are a good responder to clomid, you could end up with hyperstimulation and a ridiculous amount of follies. It's not worth the risk to your body or the "octo-mom" risk. Or, you could be someone who doesn't respond to clomid on whatever dosage they start you at (usually 50 mg) and wouldn't even know it without proper monitoring. Therefore, you'd be wasting the cycle and spending money for no reason. Good luck and definitely let me know if you ever want to talk or need advice:)
