I am making a boob cake for my husbands birthday (I know classy right lol). Anyways I was wondering if anyone has made these or another cake and had to have flesh (caucasion) colored icing. Keep in mind I live in a small town so the only colors I can get are the ones at your local grocery store. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love
Re: flesh colored icing
The only way to achieve that color is with food gels or powdered food coloring.
Regular food coloring will require too much of the product which is watery and not as potent. It will change the consistency of your frosting too much.
You can get 2 day shipping through amazon.
Here is a post about using the food gels to make skin toned royal icing.
For a cake I would use either a buttercream or a shortening based frosting.
GL!
I mixed red, yellow and green into icing. I don't remember how many drops of each. I would start with one drop red and one drop yellow and one drop of green. Then add drops of red and maybe a little bit yellow. It'll dry a little bit darker, so make it a little bit lighter than what you want.
I made a penis cake (yup, we're klassy people) for a friend's birthday and this is how I did it! HTH!!
ETA - this is with the liquid colors, not gels.
