How did your appointment go?
Re: Mel
Went ok. Baby is measuring fine. I didnt get to see much, maybe 10 seconds of the u/s. The woman was a ***. And she made me nervous the whole time asking questions (like are you going for the bloodwork, did you have the NT scan, etc - like she saw something wrong).
Doug was able to see the screen and said that anytime she did a measurement the baby was measuring at least 16 weeks. So at least he got to see it.
So other that knowing that the baby is fine, it was a big disappointment for me. Not being able to see the screen and not having any reassurance from either the tech or the doc didnt make me feel better. They both acted like I was crazy for being there at 16 weeks but I nicely explained to them that THEIR genetic counselor (who I love) was the one that said to come in twice - at 16 weeks and 19 weeks, to give me that reassurance.
So I wait another 3 weeks.... and hope that I get the other u/s tech who I like better.
Baby #2 - D&E - 10/1/10 @ 19w2d - thanatophoric dysplasia confirmed.
Charlotte Lillian will be forever in our hearts.
Baby #3 - Little Bean - natural miscarriage - 1/17/11 @ 5w5d
I'm glad the baby is doing good. That sucks that you didn't get to see much so hopefully you will get a better one next time. I think I would ask for a different one if at all possible.
I am glad that baby is growing and doing good. I agree with Heather maybe ask for another tech. Just tell the front people you had her and she did not make you feel comfortable and you want to use another one.
I just want to face kick people like that. 1st of all you work with the public, not to mention hormonal pregnant women. 2ndly, you have NO FREAKIN" CLUE as to the women's past and what they have been through to get to this point. From what I get, most of the people in your dr's office are asses. That sucks the tech ruined one of your moments. Who gives a flying flip how many u/s you get. I've already had 8 this pregnancy and my dr's will order at least 3 more making sure complications don't arise or are caught early. What a hootch =( Not her business, she just needs to do her job and have a little compassion. ::end rant::
On a good note, glad baby is doing good
(((((hugs))))) I love you Mama!
Im so glad baby is doing good!
I agree with everyone else, when you call to make your appointment, explain how rude the tech was and that you never want them again. If they give you a hard time about it, ask to speak to the office manager (or maybe talk to your doctor about it). I hope the next appointment is much better for you!
