I posted this on the book club feed but this might be a better place for the question.
My MIL just brought her mother a Kindle for Mother's Day & they seem to be under the impression that it is wireless only. Is it true you can't hook it up to a computer using a usb cord?
It seems kind of weird to me that wireless is the only way. And since Grandma doesn't have wireless it's a bit of dilemma.
Re: Kindle
It depends on what kind of Kindle they bought. There are two types. 3G and wireless.
I have a 3G kindle and can get books wireless anywhere. Wireless you have to be connected to a network to use it.
It honestly took me a while to figure out. I thought they'd forgotten to give me a cord, and only realized it when I went to unplug the charger from the wall and it came apart. I never use mine, but it's very easy - she will have to select the 'download to my computer' option when she buys books, and then she can just drag them into the Kindle folder when it's hooked up via USB.
