custom bra fitting....

speaking of bras...

this past weekend i went to davids bridal to get a long line bra for my sis' wedding (we are getting alterations done on our dresses this weekend). i went in, tried on a 38 DD (their largest size) and i was spilling out of the bra. awesome. there is a place almost next door (i was at the kennesaw location) called livi rae lingerie. i went in there really quickly as i was already late to meet my sis. well, they measured me and i got the most awesome long line strapless bra that holds me in, covers my bewbs and gives me support. i am quite excited about it. also while i was there, they proceeded to tell me that i am probably an "h" cup. Embarrassed holy big bewbies!! i plan on going back to get a good bra as i don't think i have ever had a properly fitted bra.

Re: custom bra fitting....

  • yay for nice bewbie holders! I am certain I am wearing the wrong size too, a 38DD doesn't fit quite right. The last time I had a fitting at Intimacy they put me in a 34F. While the cup was comfortable, the band was extremely tight and very uncomfortable, although they told me that's how a bra "should" fit. If cutting off my circulation means "fitting", then I'll stay in my ill fitting bra, thanks.
  • i was just excited to have a cup that covered my bewb.

I have this problem too. I should probably stop by there, but my cheapass cannot fathom paying like $80 for a bra.

um... yeah. I'm afraid what they'd want to put me in. And while those bras do last a long time so the cost per wear is good, I'm still too cheap.

i guess i am not too cheap when it comes to comfort!
  • I love that place! I was in the wrong bra big time. I actually got a bra there for $54!

  • Livi Rae is great. If you find one that you like, but don't want to spend the cash, take note of the brand and size (I do this when they leave you alone to make up your mind). Then search online for it. I hate to do it because I want to support a local store, but I can't afford it either. The first time MIL bought me three, and this time I bought one for a specific dress (low cut).

Then I went to Nordstrom (did not get fitted there) and found others that I like with more coverage (Wacoal Awareness). I bought one there for $62 and then found the exact same thing on Amazon for $39-62 (varied by color).

It took a while to get used to the fit, but I'll never go back to cheap bras that just don't support me. I was wearing 40DDD's that weren't quite right. Now I'm a 36/38G! My posture is better and I feel more confident too. :)

  • I want so badly to be fitted for bras but since my boobs seem to be growing like weeds now it doesn't seem to be worth it for me.  Instead I bought some craptastic $12.99 Target bras!

Yay for you for finding a good fitting bra!!  I imagine it really does make a difference.

  • I got fitted after my milk came in and supply regulated but was too cheap to pay more than $50/bra and instead found great bras on Ebay.

They have sizes I didn't know existed and would probably never find in a real store (32F Embarrassed)
