Bragging on Popeye
I have been taking Popeye to a trainer to help me in preparing him to be a city dog. 
We've been working on training out some of his "herding instinct" so he doesn't chase bikes in the big city, and getting him ready to take the Canine Good Citizen test. I would really like to eventually get him into therapy dog classes.
Today Popeye's trainers were SO impressed with his progress that they called him a champ and said he doesn't need one-on-one lessons anymore....he is ready for his Canine Good Citizen test! We are going to do a couple of group sessions just to make sure that he can do it with even more distractions, but I have confidence in my pup. I am so proud of him! Just needed to brag about Popeye.

That's great! Up until a month ago we were preparing Hurley for the CGCT and he was making great progress. Life got super busy and we haven't trained as much lately. I'm not sure when he'll take the test now.
I'd love to hear how it goes after Popeye passes! Congrats on the great progress.

Great job Popeye! I need to get Sofie in training again. She's passed the CGC and I had hopes of getting her in therapy dog classes but I fear she's backslid a bit with her training and I don't know if she would even pass the CGC class again. It's my own fault though because we don't practice with her enough.
