I think I am done with Glee.
Last night started out good. I was excited about a possible Mercedes plot line. Then immediately no, right back to Kurt and more bullying. I am so #^%!@$^&%@#^& sick of the bullying plot line. WE GET IT, GLEE.
Also, I was super confused when Kurt was crying over being named prom queen. I think it would be more in tune with his character to be thrilled and totally rock it. I was like "oh cool! they voted for him because they love him and accept him!" and then the whole negativity of it was weird.And then the weird Kate Middleton shout out - just no.
Seriously. I'm giving them one more episode and if they don't move on from the sanctimonious martyr crap, I'm done.
ETA: I love(d) Kurt and his story. I am just done with it. Every episode is like "here is Kurt getting bullied in a new way." There is no forward motion.

I agree with all of that. I am sick of Quinn's storyline too. But I really really hope that Finn and Rachel get back together. And for that reason, I am not going to stop watching. Plus I want to see the New York episode.

I don't watch it often - if I'm not doing anything and I remember it's on, I'll tune in. Generally, I like it - it is entertaining and kitschy (sp?) and while some of the characters are annoying (ummm Rachel? Even the actress is annoying!), they are all extreme stereotypes and I brush it aside.
That being said - I am dying to know what happened with the Prom King/Queen dance between Kurt and the closeted jock. Stupid weather alerts cut in right at the wrong time! I don't watch Glee enough to care to find it online and scan through the entire episode, but I would like to know what happened . . .
And yes, I was a little confused as to why Kurt was SO upset about being voted Queen. I mean, I get why it would offend someone who didn't want to be stereotyped, but he is SOOOO stereotyped in that role. I would have thought he'd wear the crown with gusto! And yes, the KM reference was very odd.
I know! Why give that inane song any more attention? It's not like they even did some amazing version of it (as if such a thing were possible).
I do have to say - that was the first time I've ever heard the song all the way through . . . ugh. Horrible on so many levels!

Karovsky said that he couldn't dance with Kurt and stormed off. Kurt was standing there all by himself and then Blaine stepped in and ask him to dance, and of course they did.(I love Blaine, BTW). Santana and Mercedes brought down the house with Dancing Queen, and that is how the episode ended. Oh, and Brittany got her picture taken with Artie, so they must be smoothing things over.

I totally agree with this. I thought he would have been happy to be voted prom queen.... Also, nobody else knew that this conspiracy was going on? If enough people voted to make him prom queen I would assume there would be a lot of talk about it around school. I know it's a tv show, but it does have to be somewhat realistic, right?
I am also SO over the Quinn storyline.
Also, the whole Jesse coming back was kind of weird to me. I'm pretty sure if some guy I thought I was in love with used and humiliated me, I wouldn't be going to prom with him!
We need more Sue. I do enjoy the singing, which is why I'll continue watching, but it's not as fun as it used to be.

I haven't seen last night's episode - it's saved on the DVR - but I too am slowly losing my adoration for that show.
Either be campy and completely crazy or be "real". It feels like it's trying to be both. The whole Glee shtick at first was just to be compltely ridiculous and I think it's straying from that and trying to be very "PSA" like a PP said...
I'm sad for humanity that Friday is so "popular" and even more sad that Glee covered it. :-(
I felt like Kurt's response to winning prom queen was so out of character - I wasn't quite sure what to think of it.
I also think they are crossing between campy and realistic and I wish they'd stick on one side or the other.
I also find it odd that I h.a.t.e.d. Glee because they were so campy/perpetuating stereotypes, but now the camp is what has me sucked in.
I hate the song Friday. I actually had no idea that it existed until this past weekend when my 15 year old sister told me about it. It's awful, and I can't believe that Glee did it!

FWIW, I'm watching it right now. i think Kurt is totally justified in his reaction. It wasn't voted that way to be accepting and allow Kurt to be his diva-self. It was all hate.
If he had ran for prom queen, that would have made sense for him to be all diva-kurt.
I'm irritated because I heard there was a sign posted in the school that said "Enroll in Home Ec!" Hasn't been home ec for 20 years, people....
I avoid over-hyped entertainment like the plague, so I will probably never watch Glee. I still haven't seen the movie Titanic. Plus, I'm bitter that they saw fit to remake a George Michael song.

And as for the Friday song.... I kinda liked the Glee boys' version of it, it's the original I can't stand. That chick has a whiny nasal voice and I cringe when I hear it.

But the thing is that the show has attempted to show Kurt's character being pretty accepting that other people can hate who he is, but he isn't going to let that affect him, and he isn't going to change who he is. The school has always hated the Glee kids and they still stay in the club and keep on trucking. I just thought it was so weird for Kurt to have such a reaction like that. I always kind of liked that he knew people were a**holes and didn't care. I can accept that everyone has moments of not being able to take it anymore, but this just did not seem like it would have hurt him so badly.
His regular outfits are way more crazy than a freaking kilt and he has never cared what people thought about those.

I wouldn't call that his "regular" clothes. Everyone in the glee club wore Gaga outfits that week.
I think Kurt puts on a tough face sometimes but deep down things do get to him. He seems to want to think the best of people but they keep letting him down. I think his reaction was spot on.
