i think it was asked before but i wanted to get others thoughts on this....
did you bank your baby's blood or are planning to?!? we are about 95% sure but lately dh's family is starting to say its not necessary. (they constantly say both our families have a good medical history, besides my mom's brain tumor which is not genetic.)

Re: Cord Blood?!?
I really wanted to but it's very expensive (our main reason for not doing it) and I've read that if you let the cord stop pulsing before cutting it, all the good blood goes back into their body anyways.
Also, you can't bank the blood AND let the cord stop pulsing before cutting and the latter of the 2 out weighed the first.
I'd love an extra insurance policy but we just decided not to this time....
1. did I miss that you are pregnant! CONGRATS!
2. No we did not bank cord blood. We thoguht it was more important for Lucy's cord to STOP pulsating so she got all of the good stuff and with that you can't bank cord blood.
Really I don't think it is necessary, but I can see why people want to do it.
This is the same for us, well said Stacy!
Lol at Daily!
Haha, Daily.

haha.
alex and i talked about it some more last night. we most def will be banking!!
exactly what alex and i said!!! the possiblities are endless! doing both. we will be talking to our (amazing!) ob about it at my next appt. (may 26th!!)
This fascinates me how much can be done with cord blood. Who are you going to be banking it through? Do they do it all at the hospital? Just curious, I haven't heard too much about this in awhile.
Btw, who is your "amazing" ob?
And congratulations again, I'm so happy for you two and barack;)
we will be using cbr. im ob is dr. chelsea crum with paradise valley obgyn link. their office is soo nice and everyone there is friendly. dr. crum has the best bedside manner, explains everything in detail, and is younger hehe - i would not want a 'older' dr. hehe i cant wait for barack to finally have a play buddy!!
