I just posted something on pinterest but it also had an almond glaze so i was intrigued. Pinterest is acting funky right now or I'd post the link... Check my Get in Mah Bellah board.
We grilled pineapple and added a scoop of ice cream this past weekend. It was super tasty. :-)
I also like any of the some kind of berry + something cakey + whipped cream options.
They are not light, but we make a lot of fruit pies in the summer.
Holy sweet batman! I have never loved pineapple for this reason...
GRSP, I have high hopes of hitting up the farmers market for rhubarb on Saturday and then making a cherry rhubarb pie. This still reminds me of your story about the Swiss chard (was that it?) pie that you once made.
OP, I agree with GRKaters. Can't beat strawberry shortcake. (And FWIW, the best strawberries come from northeast Michigan. We don't have much to brag about up there, but strawberries is one thing that we do well.)
LOL to both of these!!
