I've always been scared of elevators and preferred the stairs. In college I lived on the 7th floor and took the stairs.
Now for work (14th flr) I have to take the elevator and even though I'm an engineer and know the factor of safety for elevators is one of the highest of all constructed things (well it's similar to roller coasters and planes), I still get the hee-bee-jee-bees.
Anywho, I go outside just now for a quick break, get in the elevator with random guy stranger. He asks how I am and I say "not so great now that I realize how nice it is outside and I'm headed back up to work". Him "I know, with this heat I'm sweating buckets after I walk 4 blocks". Me "Yea, tell me about it. Yesterday I walked to Michigan Ave for lunch (about 7 blocks) and when I got back I had a tan line it was so sunny" Elevator stops at my floor and I say "well have a great day" and as the doors are closing (he's still in elevator) "Ya, you too. BTW, your tans doesn't look all that bad you know". Awkward!
I think I need to tell DH I need a bigger ring to scare off creepers! lol

That's why I never give more than a one-word answer to random people. Of course, since we're notoriously unfriendly here, you know someone's from out of town if they try to strike up conversation.
Oh trust me, DH knows that I would love this...but I don't think it's in his budget right now :O(
Haha, I totally said "uh thanks" and ran to my office!
No offense to anyone here or their husbands, but he had gray hair! And I'm friggin 25!
