Inside plant recommendations

Can someone suggest a good hearty inside plant? I have 2 -24inch rod iron planters in my house and they are empty! I have tried ferns and they made a mess.

 thanks!

Re: Inside plant recommendations

  • My peace lily is pretty hard to kill.  Green all year round and occassionally gets pretty white flowers.

I have NO CLUE what kind of planters you have. Are they really iron rods?

I think Diefennbachia is an easy plant for indoors. Also Peace Lilies, Lady Palms and snake plants.

That's how I read it.  LOL!  Although I find those a little odd/heavy for indoor, but to each her own.  I'd definitely put them on the little stands with wheels though.

  • HAHHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

Sorry thats my fault! WROUGHT IRON not ROD!!!!!!!!!

  • Swedish ivy and philodendron are both easy to grow and easy to care for, as well as lovely.  Both of them trail down over the pot, so it depends on what kind of planter you have and what shape plant you are looking for.

Jade tree also does well, but is slow growing.

I second this. I have one in my office (which gets 0 natural light) and it is doing great without any real maintenance.
