My mom & I will be hosting a baby shower for my sister in July. Here is what we were thinking for the menu.
Cocktail weiners, fruit tray w/ fruit dip, bean dip w/ tortilla chips, veggie tray w/ dipping sauce, meatballs, sweet cream puffs and cake.
Also, I was wondering if I was going to be offering enough drink options. I was thinking of punch, water & tea. Should I offer sodas too? I just feel three options will be plenty.
Re: Baby shower menu
I'd love to see either the weiners or the meatballs traded for chicken; right now, you have two processed meats. Chicken skewers or chicken salad.
You also have three X and dip. What about a salad? This and this are both delicious summer choices.
I think punch, water and tea are plenty

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
What time is the shower? If it's in the afternoon where people would be expecting a lunch-type meal, I would offer a couple of types of sandwiches, like mini country ham and biscuits, crossaints with chicken salad, etc. You could also do something like pinwheels or cucumber tea sandwiches. You definitely need something a little more substantial than what you are currently planning for.
I think the three drink options are fine.
What time is the shower? If it's 2-4ish I agree with Tarheels. I'd probably drop the bean dip. Cheese always goes over well. My sister just had a party with big wedges of fontina, swiss, gorganzola, and a few others. The platter was filled in with strawberries and grapes. It was easy, easy, easy and everyone loved it.
If the shower is closer to lunch I think you definitely need more. Maybe some sort of sandwich.
As for drinks, is the tea sweet? Just make sure you have a non-sweet option. Depending on the crowd I'd also consider some sort of wine/sangria.
Your menu is sort of meat and dip heavy right now. I might add one of those mini veggie pizzas (like this) to round it out a bit.
Drink options are fine. I don't drink sugary drinks, so if I were a guest, I would be fine with water. I don't think it's necessary to have a sugar-free option, but if you want to, that's where you could bring in diet soda. And I would offer coffee with dessert.

I would trade the weinies for something else (some pregnant women don't eat hotdogs at all) and something like chicken salad to make it more mealy---
I feel like you need more food
I would trade the cocktail weiners for ham and cheese croissant sandwiches or some kind of mini quiches...they just don't seem to fit the rest of the menu. You could also do some kind of cold cheese or garden dip to go along with the veggies and tortilla chips. Or mix it up and serve pita chips rather than tortilla chips, they are a bit more elegant for showers.
I think your drink options are fine. You might want to serve coffee with the dessert/cake.
Tea sandwiches and cheese platters are always crowd pleasers, plus they can be served at room temperature and prepped ahead of time so you can enjoy yourself as the hostess! A few of my favorites:

these are elegant but easy! have fun!
Those three drinks sound just fine!
I'd personally ditch the cocktail weiners and go with something like this instead:
HOT PARTY CHICKEN SALAD
8 Cups Diced Chicken Breast
1/2 C. Fresh Lemon Juice (3 lemons)
2 tsp. Salt
3 C. Mayonaisse
4 C. Diced Celery ( I used about 3 to 3-1/2 C.)
2 C. Slivered Almonds (bake in 300 degree oven until lightly browned)
1 tsp. Onion Juice
2 C. Grated Sharp Cheddar Cheese
3 C. Crushed Potato Chips
Combine first 7 ingredients.
Turn into 3 quart casserole dish.
Mix cheese and chips together and sprinkle on top.
Bake 375 for 25 minutes or until bubbly.
