Moms - Peanut Shell slings?

Any feedback on them? Are they easier to use than they look? I have a Baby Bjorn-type carrier and I just don't care for it at this point (when Aidan's bigger it'll be great, but he's still under 7 lbs right now). Are there any other carriers/slings you'd recommend for a newborn?

Re: Moms - Peanut Shell slings?

  • I never had a carrier when Mason was small, but a lot of ladies here swear by the Moby....I've also heard that it is good for when they get bigger b/c it doesn't hurt as much.  I wonder why I never got one.....hmmmm......

  • I'm planning on getting two Mobys.

    Hope you are doing well!!!

  • I'm not a sling/wrap/Bjorn type, and neither is Alyssa ... we both hate all of them ... so I can't speak from personal experience.  However, I have a friend who LOVED and I mean LOVED her Peanut.  She's got an Ergo now and she LOVES that too!!  I think it comes down to personal preference on what you can handle on your body and if your baby likes it.
  • I'm not familiar with that brand. I have a maya wrap and love it.
  • I love my Moby Wrap - it was a Godsend when Austin was a younger - especially when nothing would calm him - I'd put him in that nice and tight and close to me and do the dishes and he'd zonk out...I have the Bjorn too, which is nice for him now, if he and I go to the store real quick and I don't feel like lugging an 18lb baby in the carseat - but it isn't as easy on the back as the Moby - the Moby more evenly distributes the weight on your back...
  • I got a peanut shell for Jackson and used it less than I thought I would but I did love it...not sure how much longer I'll use it though as my chunka man is getting big!
