Hi everyone!
I have been on The Nest for awhile, but it never occurred to me to look at the anniversary boards. You all seem nice... can I join in? 
A little about me: H and I were married on 9/12. We live in upstate NY with our 2 cats Boris and Pearl who I spoil rotten. No kids for now - we love kids but hope to stay childless for awhile. I'm a freelance graphic designer/artist and my H is an athletic director for a local nonprofit org. Hmm, I can't think of anything else that's worth contributing... haha. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

I'm Mallory, I'll be 26 on June 1st, and live in SW Penn. I got married on 9/5 and have been with my husband Danny for almost 8 years. Those little poochies in my siggy are Benny and Buddy. They are my babies....for now. Still waiting on human children for about another 2 years.

We live kind of near you, well neighboring states at least...we live near Burlington, VT. I am Genevieve and I married Lucas on 9/19. We have two dogs Jerry and Pippa(hence the screen name) and our son Parker was born July 23rd 2010.
I also love your siggy, Flight of the Conchords is the best!

Hi Mary! Oh, 9 years - that's awesome! H and I have been together for 9 too... (Does that make you and your H high school sweeties?)
I used to hate reading in high school/college, but I have picked it up in the last year and LOVE it now. Aside from that, I like to work on art projects in my spare time (I do portraits and illustration for fun/side work) and like to be outside. Not camping or anything (lol) but we live by a park, and I love to walk and ride my bike around when it's nice out.
What do you do? How is life in DC?
We live in a huge mansion with 25 rooms, 3 poolboys, and a flock of petite giraffes.
Jk. We live in an apartment. lol - I suffer from house envy too! It's a cute little 2 BR, nothing too exciting but I love decorating and making it feel like home.
ETA: I just saw your other post. I won't ask you to spill your long TTC story, but I will say that your dog is so precious! I bet she is great to spoil and love up in the meantime.

We met at the very beginning of college. I'll be 26 this year and was 17 when I went to college, so there's the math.
I'm an attorney and the H is in politics, hence the DC living. I'm a transplant from St. Louis and he's originally from Dallas.
We also live in an apartment- a teeny tiny 1 bedroom (although we hope to move when our lease is up)- I am actually going to start documenting the horrors of our first home together so I'll be grateful when I want to complain later. :-)
In my spare time I cook and bake and have started to quilt within the last year (I pick up a hobby each election cycle when the H has crazed work hours). We have 1 baby nephew who is not quite 2 months old, and so I have been making stuff for him lately. I do yoga a couple of nights a week and appreciate a good martini.
That's about it for me. Nice to see you here, hope you stick around!

I know what you mean - I love it, but some of the things probably go over my head too... I think I'm a fan of it mostly because of the dorkiness/awkwardness. /shrug
Haha yeah, it fits him well! Your cat's names are very unique, I like that! My husband named him Jerry because he is a Springer Spaniel and thought it was quite hilarious that he would be "Jerry Springer Spaniel"....

I'm Christina. 25. Central NY. Married on 9/5 to my husband Joel. We've been together 4 1/2 years and have known each other for nearly 7 years. We have a son, Alex (see siggy). A dog named Sage, and two cats Nora and Gyro.
We're currently in the process of buying our first home. It isn't anything crazy, just a nice little split level where the upstairs tenants will be basically paying our way making it too great of an opportunity to pass up.
I went to school for studio art and photography but I'm currently working as an executive assistant. I do some design work on the side for my Dad's Print Shop.

Your dogs are too sweet! How long have you had them?
We've had Buddy (the one on the right) since May '09. He's a pug-chihuahua mix and belonged to my SIL. Her BIL got her kids rabbits for Easter and she couldn't take care of all the animals so she asked the kids, "what'll it be? Dog or rabbits?" and of course they picked the rabbits b/c they each had their own. We weren't planning on getting a pet until after the wedding, but when Danny told me about it, we had to take him in.
Benny (beagle) we got in October '09 from the Nittany Beagle Rescue in State College, PA. I've wanted a beagle for so long, and we noticed that Buddy was getting lonely and acting weird when we were gone for long periods of time and felt it was as good a time as any to get our second dog. Benny was a stray, but was taken in, vetted and given to the rescue by a lady who couldn't keep him b/c she had allergies. He was pretty sick and had really bad (what seemed like) separation anxiety when we adopted him. However, he's turned 180 since '09 and he is so loving and affectionate now. He must feel like he's won the lottery since living with us!

Awesome - What kind of art do (did) you like to do? And great connection to the print shop - what kind of things do you do for that? I work p/t for a local sign shop to get out of the apartment, and it can be fun - lots of interesting requests and customers! haha.

What town are you from, if you don't mind me asking? You definitely do not have to answer if you're not comfortable revealing that info!
We currently live in a unfinished four bedroom house that we've been renting from my IL's to help them out finishing it off. It's going to be great to have our own house though because we can finally put our own design spin on it even if it is technically downsizing, it will be great because it will be ours and if we decided to convert it into a single family home it would be HUGE.
I loved black and white film photography, experimental photography and oil pastels. I cannot draw well, thus why I am focused on photography. I take tons of photos on my own time as a hobby at this point. I've done a few art shows, but it's been a while and I'd love to be able to get back into doing it.
For the print shop, I am doing mostly wedding related designs because the guys don't like doing them lol. There are only three employees there, my dad, a guy that does the majority of the design work and my husband who focuses mostly on the sales but has started designing some. It drives me a little crazy that he's able to design stuff despite the fact that he went to school for business which is why I've started doing it on the side.
Hi Julia welcome to the Niners! My name is Vanessa (27) and my husband's name is Jay (almost 28). We were married 9/19 and this upcoming September we'll have been together for 10 years. We live in the suburbs of Chicago; I'm an attorney and am currently a staff attorney for a judge in our juvenile court system and Jay works in the security field. We currently live in my parent's house while they spend most of their retired life at our family home in WI as we save up to purchase our first home. No pets (not by choice) and no kids (definitely by choice, for now!). I love reading, watching movies and trashy tv and being outside when the Chicago weather cooperates. Right now the most exciting thing in our life is that our best friend's are expecting their first baby, due 4th of July, and we're over the moon excited!
