I feel crazy asking... but... is there a plant that dogs won't pee on? I thought I read that lavender or some herb was good in the garden to deter dogs from peeing there.
We have a garden right along the sidewalk. It would be great if I could rely on the dogs' owners to have a little common sense. Since that's not the case, I'm hoping there is something that will tell the dogs that it is not their zone.

Re: Plants to deter dogs
Inconsiderate dog owners infuriate me. What the hell is wrong with people... I don't allow MY dog to pee on someones yard, but I have the same situation as you.
I actually made signs and put them at the perimeter of my yard, asking people to curb their dogs.
I don't know how big your garden is, but what about some kind of a thorny plant? Like barberry, roses, creeping juniper?
Its possible that using a deer/rabbit repellent, like Liquid Fence, might deter the dogs by smell. But I don't know for sure.
No-o-o! Why are people so weird?

Hey, some of us don't have much room to work with. My garden runs along the sidewalk, because I only have 7 or so feet of former lawn in front of my house.
OP- I'd honestly just put a sign out that says to please curb your dog.
Or something prickly
