Has anyone had their gallbladder removed?
Just curious about the recovery period. How long was it?
Re: Has anyone had their gallbladder removed?
My mom did about five years ago or so. I don't remember how long she was off work (maybe a week?), but I could double-check with her if you'd like.
ETA: I just saw your post on FB. Hope you're feeling some relief this morning.
I am sore, but definitely feeling much better. Thanks!
I am a little hungry but way too scared to eat anything. I have a call in with my regular doctor - he's reviewing my ER charts and will decide to either make an appointment with him or skip straight on through to the ultrasound. I don't see how meeting with him will accomplish anything so I'm really just hoping for the ultrasound. Let's get this show on the road.
Not me, but my BFF and both my in-laws have. If it's done laprascopically you should be feeling good after 2-3 days. My friend had it done on Friday and was back to work on Monday.
Hope you're feeling better - a lot of times the ultrasound will be normal and then they will have to send you for a HIDA scan, which shows how the gallbladder is functioning vs. looking for structural issues or stones on an ultrasound.
Interesting, thanks for the info.
I wonder if they would just let me skip straight to that. Haha. I just wanna be done with this!
A lot of times it depends on the insurance company. Which is stupid, IMO. But that's insurance for you!
2pm is 5 hours, so that should be plenty.
My Dr's office usually gets back to me within an hour or two, but always before he goes home - so sometimes after 5pm, but still same day.
