A few of my co-workers tried a free kickboxing class last at LA Fitness and we all signed up. It's funny how many teachers were there - I guess I'm not the only one with pent-up frustration from dealing with high schoolers all day
I'm back into running after my son was born a little over 2 months ago but I'm hoping this also help me get into shape and hopefully lose the last baby lbs.
We had to borrow gloves last night so now I need to figure out what kind to buy and how much $ is reasonable. They sell ones there for around $60-70 but I'm hoping to spend less money. Any recs? Someone mentioned Dicks?
Re: Anyone kickbox?
SOMETIMES a Ross/TJ Maxx/etc. will carry a large exercise stuff section and I know I've seen gloves there before but probably not great selection or quality. Play it Again Sports will have them cheap... but that might be kinda gross. Dicks and Sports Authority would be your best bet... unless maybe a Target or Walmart sells them. There's also Amazon, etc. but don't know if delivery time would work.
I used to do kickboxing - the very non badass kind at Gold's. LA Boxing intimidates me... no thank you. I don't need to handle my "BIZZZ-NAZZZ!!!" Now I do yoga - quite the switch... and sometimes I think an hour of beating on things would leave me feeling more zen.
I recently joined LA Boxing after a trial class - I totally fell in love with it. As part of a special, I *think* I paid $50 for wraps, gloves, and a t-shirt (normally the package might have been $100).
Have FUN! It's an awesome workout!
Thanks! We were super intimidated when we first walked in but everyone was really nice and supportive. Plus it was a great workout!
