this spider was in our kitchen this afternoon. yikes! dh and i are trying to figure out what kind it is. does anyone know?

    yes, i'm sorry to report that the spider is no longer with us. :( (sorry to all the spider lovers out there, but i can't deal with them).

    leah, are barn spiders poisonous?

  • No. It doesn't look like a brown recluse. but still be careful. They like to live in really dark places like in your garden gloves or shoes you leave by the door outside.

  • Ugh! I hate spiders! We had one that looks kind of like it the other day. My husband calls them wolf spiders. IDK. I hope you got rid of it!

  • Yeah, looks like a wolf spider to me.  We get them outside in our back yard.  From what I read, they are poisoness but not deadly.  Double-check that for your own peace of mind!
  • thx girls! it would make sense if it was a wolf spider...we've have had an infestation of wolf spiders in our subdivision (and in our house). i've just never seen one *that* big (or dark - the ones i've seen have been light brown/black in color). i hate spiders!
