Geoffrey's Cafe or other brunch place?
Boston nesties! this DC nestie is visiting this weekend for two red sox games! we have heard good things around Geoffrey's Cafe for brunch and curious if this is a good place or if you have other recs. We are staying near the State St T stop.
ETA we are looking for a Sunday brunch.
Re: Geoffrey's Cafe or other brunch place?
I have never heard of this place! It looks good online though!
I also like Stella, but it looks like Geoffrey's is the same kind of place!
I've never heard of Geoffrey's either and second the recommendation for Stella in the South End (and if you do go to Stella you should make time to check out the nearby SOWA Open Market too, it's walking distance). I know one of the other Nesties here also recommends Hamersley's Bistro. A bigger splurge would be Henrietta's Table in Harvard Square (the thought of a splurgey brunch is a little ridiculous, I know, but it really is good). Zaftig's in Coolidge Corner, Brookline is also supposed to be amazing, but that would take more effort to get to (the Green Line can be a pain).
Have fun at the games!
I haven't been, but it looks good! We used to go to the Paramount for brunch (on Charles Street), but it was casual and crowded. Good, though!
And I haven't been for brunch, but Burtons Grill and Sel de la Terre both have brunch, and their other food is really good. ( Not sure if it's an afternoon game, but Burton's is right near Fenway, and Sel de la Terre has two locations - one by the Aquarium, which is close to your hotel, and one on Boylston street, and you can either walk from there, or hop on the T.)
Georffrey's is great for brunch! : ) The doughnut muffin, lightly grilled is sinful.
Hamersley's Bistro is wonderful. It's a little pricey, but mostly for drinks. The brunch food is well priced and the food is amazing!
I love Burton's Grill brunch! The filet mignon benedict is amazing!
