For all you mommas and mommas to be, when did people start planning your showers?

My sister is due in August with twins. I am doing her shower June 18th.

I am due end of July it was going to be 1st weekend of June but we switched to May (which was fine by me, means I will be less big and less awkward).

As far the planning process a hall was reserved about 2.5 months out and the nitty gritty was started to get pulled together 2 months out. Invites were sent just under two months out and rsvps due 3 weeks out.

I don't think my MIL has started planning my MD shower, but my mom has already reserved the place and date for my Jersey shower. Since she doesn't want me to have to drive to far later in the pregnancy and we are already going to be out of town in September, my Jersey shower is set for August 7th. She is asking me for addresses already. I guess I should really get on that lol

We started planning mine in August. My first shower was in October and the second was in November a week before I was due. MIL hosted the second one and to be honest I wish I never had the second one. I was miserable and too pregnant to enjoy it.

ETA: we started to plan the October one in August. My mom had back surgery in early September that year so we wanted to get things done before hand.

Mine were thrown the end of March/ beginning of April.

My mom is doing one in June so I don't have to travel closer to my due date when it is hot and humid out.

My SMIL hasn't set a date yet but it will be in August.

Hmm, well I have some friends who are throwing me one down here in Atlanta and they mentioned it about two months ago and today they asked about wanting to sit down and get some ideas for it.

Other than that, no one in my family has mentioned having one at all. I am not trying to be gift grabby, but I am more excited about seeing people. I know I am still kind of early but since I do not live back near my family I can not have them too late. I am just wondering if it is too early to be concerned about this?

i don't know when they started planning my shower but i was 36 weeks at it.  they planned it for when my sister was here visiting.

The one that I helped plan for my cousin she was due end of April, we had the shower a month before her due date in March, and we started planning early/mid Feb.

My shower is being held the first weekend in June. I think the planning began about 4 weeks ago.

My shower was in July and I was due August.  My SIL is due Sept. and her's is in July.

one was january and one was feb. january one my mom and aunt started planning in late oct. it was involved. february I think she started planning in mid january, its how she rolls.

two were the middle of April (30 weeks) and one is June 4 (37 weeks) - the April ones were in MI (11 hours away) so that is why they were really early.  I know for those, the invites were sent out about a month in advance - I don't know when the actual "planning" began.
