"judgement day"?
So now people are saying that the world will end on Saturday...has anyone else heard this? Do you think this person is crazy? Does it freak you out? The thought bothers me...

The guy claiming all of this owns several radio networks and has, apparently, claimed the same thing back in 1994 and sometime around 2000.
Interestingly enough, I'm doing this "New Thru 30" reading plan in the bible (New Testament in 30 days) and when I heard about this for the first time a couple of days ago, I was scheduled to read through the first few chapters of the book of Matthew that same night. I bookmarked a few things that really stood out to me based on these Judgement Day claims:
BFP on 2.2.11
Pretty much what Linds said except I'm not freaked out at all. We don't know the hour, just the season. This guy is off his rocker. According to my IL's, some other dude said it was going to happen sometime in the 80s.
The sad thing is that people who don't understand that MOST Christians don't believe we know when it will happen will now think we are totally nuts. I know there was a post on MM mocking it a bit.
I totally agree with you Lindsay!

My sister's bachelorette party is Saturday so dealing with her b!tch friends will pretty much feel like judgment day anyway.
But seriously, I don't like to think about it. I have a lot I want to do before the world ends so I hope it's not this Saturday.
LOL!
The wife of our preacher works in our building and I went to ask her if the world was ending. She said, "Of course not! No one knows when that will happen!" She said that it's the belief of a fundamentalist group of people who call themselves Christians who believe that by thinking it's the end of the world, non-believers will want to believe so they are saved.
She personally thinks that when the world doesn't end on Saturday, this group (which she says is kind of like a cult) might do something similar to the Haley's Comet group.....
If the wife of my preacher is 100% confident that the world won't end, I'm placing my bet on the fact we'll still all be here on the 22nd
