I have tulip bulbs in my freezer that I pulled up a few weeks ago- is it okay to plant them back now, or should I wait until summer is over? We're in Colorado, so it doesn't get too hot here, but it will be warming up soon. Does it matter?
TIA!

Re: When to replant tulips?
Our little Irish rose came to us on March 5, 2010
Don't drink the water.

Out of curiosity, why did you pull them and put them in the freezer? Tulips are usually left in the ground in colder areas.
It might actually be better to replant them now. They need to get some growing, bulb-fattening time in to store up everything they need to bloom again next year. Aren't bulbs in warmer climates usually lifted in the fall, after the summer growing season?
I guess you could always plant half now, half in the fall, and see which do best. At least that way you wouldn't lose your entire collection!
Any botanists care to weigh in?
