Looking for Children (Baby) Music Recommendations
I think some of you ladies saw my status on facebook this mornign about my lovely ride into work this morning. For the ones who didn't my daughter decided she wanted to scream and cry the whole drive in.
That being said ... I think I'm going to have to break down and start listening to children's music in the car with her. Was hoping that some of the smartest ladies I know could recommend there favorite (but not painful) children's music?
TIA!

G loves Jack Johnson thankfully.
He has this CD for kids:

However, I do like the Bare Naked Ladies kids music cd.

Don't laugh, but at that stage K was ALL ABOUT the hip hop. He'd be out cold every.single.time. I'd put some on.
I didn't have it blaring by any means, not even loud at all. He still shakes his butt to 90's flashbacks
BUT *I* also liked playing Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz etc, for him.
Babies/Toddlers enjoy the Beatles. You could also just plug in an ipod or whatever and stream pandora in the car. You can set it on a kiddo station.
Good luck.
OK, here are some of the CDs I have w/ links to preview the songs --
Laurie Berkner -- Best of the Laurie Berkner Band (one of Shannon's faves)

Tom Chapin -- Moonboat (one I grew up with)

I have some by They Might Be Giants ("Here Come the ABCs," "Here Come the 123s" and "No!"... don't have the science one yet), one Sesame Street album (Elmo's Favorite Sing-Alongs), Carole King's "Really Rosie" (which puts Maurice Sendak's books to music), an Alvin & the Chipmunks CD, Jack Johnson's "Singalongs and Lullabies from the Film Curious George", a couple Disney Playhouse (now "Disney Junior" channel) ones, and a Raffi one (Singable Songs for the Very Young)... There may be more, but these are the more fun albums!
The They Might Be Giant's CD's that Alicia mentioned are great.
EH went to the library borrowed them and burnt copies for Ella. She is almost 6 and still listens to them.
I also had one that I bought. I think it was Toddler Tunes. I liked it.
I also recommend Bare Naked Ladies - Snack time. I also have the Beatles, All together now. John likes both of them. His infant room at daycare played Jack Johnson alot which I liked too.
If you want to borrow my CDs, let me know and I can bring to DC.
LOVE TMBG 123's and ABC's. (and yes, I mean that *I* love them - they are really enjoyable to listen to! DS loves them too)
The Curious George soundtrack is also good.
And Philadelphia Chickens,
Denise that would be great! I can just burn them to my computer and then to my iphone and get them back to you!
Thank you to everyones recommendations! The ride in with some children's music playing was much more enjoyable!
