  • I totally feel for you. But dont worry, this weekend is suppose to be very nice, you just need to get all the water out and let everything dry out side.  You have alot of work ahead.

  • I do feel sorry for you.   that really sucks and I hope the cleanup isn't too horrible.

    But you meant Woe.

  • I'm sorry!  Do you have a wet vac and a dehumidifier?  If not, you may want to get to Home Depot pronto.

My BIL & SIL had a sump pump that failed and it turmed ot something was blocking the pipe so it wasn't draining properly.  9If I recall correctly, this was several years ago.)

  • Oh, I do!  That stinks.  We have had our basement flood 3 times in about 4 yrs.  It really is a PIA!  Have you called your insurance comany yet?  They should send people out to help with mitigation.  Good luck!

It happend to our house while we were under contract. The ding bats who turned off the power at the breaker failed to leave the breaker on that ran the sub pump. We went to check something at the with our REA and he had to wade through like 8 inches of water to turn it on for us. ( He is the BEST)  and the bank that owned it cleaned it all up. So we still bought it.

  • Ugh, that sucks, I remember when our basement flooded a few years ago, it was AWFUL.  I  hope nothing valuable was damaged.

But definitely "woe" - you may want to edit your subject line....i  thought this post was going to be about horses or something lol.

  • I'm sorry! Hope you can get it cleaned up soon.
  • Yuck, what a mess......so sorry. Get it dried out down there asap and don't let anything wet sit around. Good luck.

  • Definitely get a dehumidifier stat. You can also rent those huge industrial fans and dehumidifiers at abc rental and other such places. I would do that asap. We had flooding issues in our last house (the evil barn). It was no fun :( hope you can have a cocktail this evening.
  • Oh that stinks!  I hope the damage isn't that bad.

  • We have it all, always have had a dehumidifier...the sump pump, a whole basement waterproofing system that failed us. Apparently the floater in the sump pump got stuck. The guy says when it rains, to listen for the sump pump to go off...so basically, I have to turn in to my mother who always worries about the sump pump going off.

we've dried up what we can...but you can still hear water under neath the tiles and laminate floor we laid...that will probably be our biggest damage (other then some about 50 CD's)
