MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, Michigan (WZZM) - One man is dead after an overnight house fire in Muskegon Township.
The fire started Friday about 3:00 a.m. in the 3400 block of East Apple Avenue.
Three people were in the home at the time. Police say two people who were downstairs were able to get out safely because their dog woke them up.
But, a man in his 30's who was upstairs, was not able to get out. Firefighters tried to rescue him through an upstairs window, but the window was too small.
Firefighters think the fire started in the living room sofa and spread quickly.
A portion of Apple Avenue was closed to traffic this morning because of the fire response.

Wow! I am so sorry.
I can't even imagine. I'm so, so sorry. How awful. I'll be praying for your family today and this weekend. Can I do anything else to help?
