Have any of you had your appendix out? I noticed this morning that my lower right side in my abdomen hurts. It's worse if I laugh, sneeze or cough. I tried pushing on the area because I know that may be a sign that it's burst but it doesn't hurt from that. So I'm doubting if that is what is going on.
I don't really feel any discomfort if I'm sitting still but the second I adjust my position, stand up, walk, stretch - the dull achy/crampy pain is back. But it's the worst when I laugh - I was cracking up at the morning show I listen to on the way to work and that's when I really noticed it.
Re: Appendix Question
It could also be a sign that you pulled your lower abdomen muscles. I have done this many times and have the same symptoms. It is very easy to do especially if you are lifting a child.
Not ruling out your appendix, just giving you other things to consider.

Very true. Good thinking! Or if you've been working out after you haven't in 10 months.
It always best to call your doctor first. I almost had mine taken out, but then we found out it was endometriosis, so I ended up having another surgery.
Have you started your period yet? Your body may still be trying to get back to normal, and it could be sensitivity from that. I haven't gotten mine yet, but I assume the first one will do effed up stuff to my body.
It could be a pulled muscle - it doesn't feel like one though. Not saying that couldn't very well be what it is. It almost feels like it's deep inside vs the feeling of a pulled muscle.
Mary - yes I started my period again, I did have an acute case of endo pre-pregnancy - maybe it's gotten worse? I just feel silly seeing the doctor if it's "nothing". But I suppose better safe than sorry.
I had my appendix out when I was 14. I had a lot of discomfort for years and finally went to a specialist and they decided to take my appendix out. Good thing they did. It was the size of a quarter. It really irritated me when I was swimming. I would definitely go see the doctor and get it checked out. Hopefully you'll get an answer soon.

I was told that I should not have to deal with endo again, since having a baby stretches everything out and breaks up scar tissue. I hope this is true, cause the 3 months before we got KU sucked! I can't go back to that again.
It's best to get checked out if you are unsure.
Endo normally gets better after having a baby...however some people still have complications with it depending on their scarring.
As for the appendix, are you nauseated? and vomiting? fever? right lower quad pain is def a sign of an appy but typically when you push there its super painful when you release. Sometimes people do not vomit or feel nausea or fever with an appy. but def pain. some can't even stand or jump up and down.
Did you have a c section? I know after my c i still have weird pains and discomforts in my lower section not even near my scar.
Hope you feel better!! it never hurts to get checked out tho.
No c-section. I've had a few "quirks" lately - and this is the latest one to add to the heap. I should just schedule an appointment and list the things that have been off for the past few weeks. I don't feel normal lately - I thought it might be sleep deprivation but who knows. Thanks ladies.
Always better to be safe and get it checked out!
Good Luck
aka rebound.
As someone who had their appendix rupture I would error on the side of caution. I ignored it for a while and even saw a doctor and was sent home. One gigantic scar and a surgery later I found out mine was ruptured. So whenever anyone asks me I am always in favor of getting it checked
Good luck!
