Morning all. Thank you all so much for your well wishes yesterday. I haven`t cried that much in one day in a long time. Derek and I are just doing a few things around the house and then we're heading out to Oshawa to see Tim and Shannon.
I did what I do best when sad/stressed, I baked. Banana muffins and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Now I'm going to put together some cut veggies and maybe we'll grab some sandwich making supplies, as I'm sure food is that last thing on Tim and Shannon's minds.
The Blue Jays proved last night what a great team they are. They dedicated the game to Ryley with special gestures from Ricky Romero (pitcher) and JP Arencibia (catcher). They and the commentators made reference to Ryley all night. It was really touching. Two of the Toronto newspapers have put out articles about it already too, here and here.
I'm off now to get some things done, and then we're off. What a weekend, we've got a wedding on Sunday too.
Have a great weekend everyone, and to my fellow Canadians, enjoy the long weekend!
Re: Morning
Wow that was so amazing of the Blue Jays. Raynes baking is what I do too. I know Tim and Shannon will appreciate it.
Morning.
Raynes, what beautiful stories. I honestly choked up and could barely make it through the first article. It amazes me how many lives such a sweet innocent boy touched. Thank you for sharing.
My weekend will be uneventful. DH and I are cleaining out to prepare for next weekends multi-family yard sale. Hoping to have space in my house again.
Otherwise we may head over to a friends house to watch the Red Soc play Saturday night.
I heart the Jays, so classy. What a touching story, I'm crying here (again).
V and I have a concert tomorrow night but otherwise spending the weekend doing things around the house. We bought our first nursery furniture last night so we'll be assembling it. I'm really looking forward to some time to ourselves; I finally realized that we just have to stop filling up free time with things and start being selfish so we can get stuff done.

Raynes, those stories were beautiful. The Blue Jays are definitely a classy and caring organization.
Morning, all. Weekend should be pretty quiet, just the usual errands, chores, gym-going, etc. Hopefully we can get outside for a bit because it's supposed to be really nice.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Those articles are so touching. I'm so glad that a major sports team can still take a time out for what really matters in life. I'm sure Ryley was watching the game and rooting them on.
Raynes, I usually bake and clean, too. It's just something monotonous to keep your mind off things. I'm sure Tim & Shannon will love having some food and friends around this weekend.
Nothing special for us going on. Tonight is game night with friends and dinner. Tomorrow will be some lounging, maybe some sanding, and then I'll be at work for a few hours to congratulate our Class of 2011. Sunday will just be more of the usual house stuff.
Thanks for posting those articles, raynes. The first one had me in tears.
We have another farmer's market tomorrow. It's supposed to rain again. Ugh. We haven't had a dry market yet this year. I just hope that the rain will hold off until we get our tent up.
Otherwise this weekend, I'm supposed to get together with a friend. She has had a rough week so hopefully we'll be able to have some fun. In addition to breaking her finger at a work conference, she found out that a guy who she had been seeing (on-again, off-again, but never really serious) got married two weeks ago. She had last seen him just over two weeks ago. He married his ex-fiance at the courthouse. I guess it wasn't completely shocking but still strange. She says that she's not upset by it, but I'm guessing that it has still been an emotional drain to a certain extent.
Raynes-That about the blue jays gave me chills.
My weekend is going to be a fun one. DH is off this weekend and will be doing projects around the house. We have a birthday party tomorrow and I plan to do alittle shopping before. Jordan leaves for a week long summer camp in 2 weeks so I need to get him some things.
Those articles brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for posting them raynes.
We have a pretty low-key weekend planned. Tomorrow we are celebrating a friends birthday with Pub Crawl Golf. Apparently it is pretty involved and requires a great deal of drinking. Should be interesting.
Sunday, if the rain holds off, we are finishing up outside work around the house.
Have a great weekend ladies!
That's amazing of the Jays, such a nice way to honour Ryley. I got so choked up reading those articles.
I have a quiet weekend planned with DH out of town. Just taking it easy tonight, with a workout and some catch up tv. Heading to a BBQ tomorrow and then pilates on Sunday. Mix in some travel planning and taxes, and I should be kept fairly busy.
Enjoy the long weekend! I find it interesting that Canada gets a holiday for the Queen's birthday, and we don't
But I guess I can't complain since we did get the extra one for the Royal Wedding this year.
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
Raynes - That's sweet of you to bake and buy them food. You're right, it's probably the last thing on thier minds. Awesome of the Jays. I'm waiting to read the articles until this evening, I know there will be tears.
DH and I are just relaxing this weekend, he leaves 4am Monday morning for a business trip.
Wow, what great stories Raynes!
Good Morning,
I am finishing up at work and so excited to leave tomorrow for Mexico! I can't wait to get out of here for a week. DH has had a rough week and needs a break too.
Have a great week ladies!
Thanks for sharing those articles, Raynes.
Today I had to put in overtime at work and then visited Grampa so I didn't even get home until after 6pm. There are some issues going on at work right now and management begged a bunch of us workers to put in overtime this weekend but management has bit off more than WE can chew and we all said no. Seriously, at 2pm on the Friday of a long weekend you ask me to work the weekend? No thanks.
Our house is going up on the market on Tuesday so this weekend will be filled with cleaning and decluttering. Sunday my Dad is having a bbq so I'm excited to play with my niece and nephew.
