How much do I need to spend to get a good camera?

Suddenly the 10 megapixel isn't cutting it.

Re: How much do I need to spend to get a good camera?

  • I imagine it depends on the kind of camera you are looking to buy and how you plan to use the images you are taking. Are you looking for a snap and shoot, DSLR or something in between?
  • it also has to do with more than just the megapixels too. like pp said, do you just want a point and shoot, or what are you looking for? i love my canon rebel, although i'm still learning how to use it

  • Idk what DSLR means, but I'm just looking for something that will give me clearer, higher quality pics now that Lucy is here.  We probably wouldn't know how to use most of the fancy features...

  • If you're not looking for too many manual features, a point shoot is probably the option you want. I'm a huge Canon camera fan. I currently have a Canon Elph (point and shoot) and Canon Rebel XS. I've had a canon power shot series in the past (loved it). The Elph has great quality pictures with fun features in my opinion. However, Sony and Nikon have some great point and shoots out there as well.  Go play with them in the store and see which ones you like using. I read lots of reviews online too of models I'm interested in. Good luck!
  • Thank you!
