I'm looking to buy a new TV for the living room, only requirements is a good price for the size, reliable reputation and 32" or larger.. (Please keep in mind - I know next to nothing when it comes to TV's)
Details
TV#1: Sceptre, 32inch 720p, LCD HDTV (I've never heard of this mfg?) $269, marked down from $399
TV#2: Polaroid, 32inch, 720p, LCD HDTV (Family has 2 Polaroid TV's - both 19 and no issues with either- 1 of the 2 is a LCD TV) $269
TV#3: Zenith, 42inch, 720p, Plasma HDTV $499 (40 inch I would want to stay close-ish to $400 - Not looking for highest end)
Re: LCD TV Help??
I know some that swear by vizo or sony ... unfortunetly right now, those two or samnsung aren't my options and can only find store reviews on them so far.
None of those brands are really any good.
I'd buy a Samsung. I have a Samsung TV and a Samsung monitor and the quality is excellent and the price is great.
Ditto PP, skip the Plasma. They're fragile and temperamental. Go with an LCD or LED TV instead. At 32 inches, there isn't a big difference between 720p or 1080p/i, but above 32 inches it becomes much more noticeable.
When I went shopping, I got a helluva deal on a Sony Bravia from TigerDirect.com. They have email coupons/sales every few days - I got a TV listed at $899 for $400 (with free shipping!). We absolutely love it. Their customer service is also outstanding, so if you have questions, or any issues, they're GREAT with helping. :-)
