Re: ~MD~

  • hi! thanks for asking. yes, we are going to the vet at 12:30. she is acting weak but not worse. we're going to get her some bloodwork as one of her meds (digoxin) can cause kidney failure. i'm now worried i may have poisoned her. before she got sick i gave her one of her meds. it's about the size of a BCP but it has to be broken into quarters (so really, really small). i noticed the pill was more like 3 quarters of a half instead of half of a half. it's so hard to get them exact. it's so small i didn't think it was any big deal. but the vet asked me when she got that med (she only gets it 2x a week) and she got it the night she got sick. oy.
Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.
  • Eek! I hope she is ok. I would be nervous breaking up pills that need to be so precise. Doesn't digoxin come in a liquid form?  I think I'd feel safer giving it that way.

Raven's Tramadol needs to be broken in half and I went out and bought a pill cutter b/c I was tired of trying to break it or cut it with a knife and have the other half fly across the kitchen.

lololololol! i know that feeling well! i do have a pill cutter. i don't use it often on this particular pill as it is soft and i can break it with my nail.

the vet said they could give it to us in liquid form. i may try to be a little bit more precise. i didn't really realize it mattered that much (i know, stupid). i'd hate to have the vet give it to us in liquid because then it might have to refrigerated and also more expensive. right now i give her her meds 2x a day and i keep them upstairs. it's a hassle to have to refrigerate one. i also give her 6 different meds so cheaper is better at this point.
