Dad/Neice Update

I was on a trip to NY yesterday and my dad called me. He said there was problems at the house. My step mom was drunk and acting crazy. My two brothers were there (17 and 21) so even though she was climing my dad was abusing her, they were there to see that he was not. After he called me I guess she called the cops on him to say that she feared for her life. She then proceeded to puch my dad, push my brothers and when the police got there, they arrested her. She was charged with resisting arrest, assault and battery and some other charge. My step sister and step brother came to pick up the baby and DSS was there. They stated that she is not allowed to return to the house.

My dad has packed up all his clothes and belongings and will be living in a small pop up trailer down the road once she returns. It's all he can afford to do for now until he can save some money. I am hoping the court orders her to move out of their apartment seiing he pays for it so he can stay there.

Although this is not how I would have liked to see everything turn out, I am glad that she is in jail and DSS is invovlved. Now that my neice can no longewr live in the house, there is no reason for my dad to stay. Here's hoping for the best

Wow, that's a lot that went down.  I'm unsure why your dad is leaving to live in the trailer if he pays for the apartment.  Why doesn't he stay there and let her look for another place?  Especially since she was the one who was arrested.

Good Lord, what a nightmare!  I'm so sorry your dad has to go through all of this.  Continued thoughts and prayers for him and for the whole family!

I am not really sure. That's really what he should do, and he will need to get a restraining order on her to keep her away. I think he doesn't want to deal with the hassle but you are right, he pays for it and should stay there.

I'm really sorry it all went down like this.  I know that's going to be really difficult and stressful for your dad.  But I hope that this is the point from which he's able to move on and get a "normal" life back, without all of the drama that your stepmom brings.

What a nightmare.  I'm sorry to hear that your Dad is going through this again/still.  Hopefully if your niece can't be there this will be what he needs to stay away from your step mom.
