Q of the Day

I know these aren't daily, but it would be awkward to call it "Question of the First Half of the Week" so we'll stick with the original name :)

What's blooming in your yard/around town right now (that you love)?

  • In our yard: lilac (purple has been open for a week now, white is just opening), rhododendron, a few wildflowers i don't know the names of, bluebells (on their way out), silver dollar plant, ash and apple.

Down the street is a pink dogwood in full bloom, gorgeous, and our neighbors have a snowball tree that is one of my favorites.  There's also a lilac down the road that has small blossoms that are pinkish lavender near the tips and white a the base; they're arrangement is more spherical than conical, but it smells (and the individual flowers and the tree itself looks) like a lilac.

  • Well I'm by no stretch of the imagination a plant / tree guru. But we have tulip annuals that came up a couple weeks ago and are in full bloom. And a bunch of those trees with the beautiful tiny white flowers. The trees are my favorite.
  • Lilacs and beautiful blossoming trees!! There is nothing like walking out into thr spring weather, with the air lightly scented with florals. :)))

  • The fruit trees already dropped their flowers, as did the azaleas.  Our irises are in full bloom though and look lovely.

  • Our fruit trees and dogwoods have already dropped their flowers too.  It's still too early here for the ornamentals like roses, so we don't have much blooming right now.

  • We just moved to Northern California from Arizona yesterday and I am getting such a treat up here!  Everything is in bloom.  The trees, flowers, plants... there's even grass here!  That grows without the use of sprinkler systems!!!  Haha!

In our yard our pomegranate tree doesn't have fruit but the most beautiful little pink flowers on it.  I love it, it really brightens up the front yard.  And in the backyard we have some pretty flowers that I'm trying to learn the names of (and find out if they are OK for the dogs in case they decide to snack on them).
