State Employee Salary Database
Re: State Employee Salary Database
They publish ours every year in the school newspaper. Fun times.
I guess mine is if you knew what GS level and step I am, but wow you can't type in my last name and find that out specifically. I would have to tell you and you could easily find the GS scale for the DC area on opm.gov.
Is the purpose transparency?
Yup. Public info.
I loved looking up what all of the employees of UMCP made when they published the salary guide in the diamondback every year!
i knew it was public information but had no idea where the database was to find it.
i knew that our pay scales were out there but its taking it one step further with the last name search.
i discovered that my husband makes more than the director of my office.
no clue who mildred is but alicia is my SIL who had a work study job at UMCP. I wonder if I was supposed to disclose that she worked for them. Hmmmm.
A big part of my job is doing background checks on people and it's really not that much fun when you don't know the people. I am always amazed at how many people flat out lie about their criminal/case history though.
I love when people lie about silly things about what they paid for their house or the value of their house.
did you have fun with it?
As of last year they still did this. And I totally used it as a starting point for my salary.
