Re-Intro
Hey Nesties!
I was on the Nest for a while, then got caught up in the craziness of the school year and neglected my boards.
I'm back, but figured I should re-introduce myself since it has been a while. I'm Nikki, I live in Beaverton, I have been married to DH, a commercial fisherman from AK, for almost 4 years, and teach high school English. We have a 2 year old husky puppy named Mukluk who is a darling yet stubborn pooch, and 2 rather obnoxious cats.
I loved reading this board before I slacked off - the camaraderie was evident. Neither DH or myself have a lot of friends outside of work - so we're always looking to meet new people and discover cool new places to go. We're not low on friends due to creepiness, but rather a general lack of time to get to know new people in our area, and a frequent homebody attitude which keeps us close to home instead of out exploring and meeting people. We need people to get us out of our shells and out and about!
Anyways, I'm glad to be back on this board, and look forward to talking with you all!

I would love to meet up for food and/or shopping sometime! - where is the planning going on now? facebook?
Oh, and thanks for the puppy love - we rescued him from the Humane Society a year ago, and love him to pieces! We don't have kids yet (part of why our friends are drifing away - they do have kiddos) and he is our FurBaby!
Oh, there are several Nesties who don't have kids yet and have fabulous doggies. You will like them.
We should plan a new-nestie meet and greet!

Hi Nikki (and everyone else)! I'm new here (and will be new to Portland soon), and am also looking to make friends. (How pathetic does that sound?!) My husband and I will be moving there in a little over a month (with no kids and one super spoiled small dog who would love to be friends with your big dog).
I'm also all for a new (and old) nestie gtg... so, sorry, but you'll all just have to wait till July!
