Who taught you to tie your shoes?
Re: QOTD
My mother did.
I do remember it taking a while for me to "get it", though. Anybody else a left-handed child of right handed parents? I feel like I had a hard time learning to do lots of fine-motor activities (writing included). There are lots of examples of me learning how to do things completely bass-ackwards.
The only other leftie in my family is my grandfather, who forced himself to become a rightie during childhood (1930s-40s), partially due to pressure from teachers and partially due to an accident that injured his left arm.
My grandmother use to tell me pretty horrible stories about what the nuns (and even her own mother) would do to her for wrting with her left hand. DH is a leftie and forced himself to learn all sports right handed. I joke that he is ambidextrous but I know that is not the true definition.
I totally remember these from kindergarten! I'm pretty sure it was a combination of those practice laces and my mom teaching me at home.

I am! IT was frustrating, but I ended up writing left handed and doing everything else like a righty - it's more comfortable for me to play sports, cut food, etc like a righty. But if I try to write with my right hand I've always felt awkward, they tried really hard in kindergarden to make me a righty when I broke my left elbow and had a full arm cast. I learned to right with my arm stuck in a right angle haha.
Now to answer the question....
My mom did. But I never learned one of those rhymes for it, like bunny ears. It was just, loop this, pull this around, tuck it through, etc. Like an instruction manual.

I remember learning in preschool. I loved that teacher, she sang Puff the Magic Dragon to us while playing it on her guitar.
My parents & brother are right handed, my sister & I are lefty's. But, I learned to do many things right handed. Like using scissors, I can't cut left handed LOL. But I do most sports either handed, it throws people off. It helps A LOT while playing pool.
I think my dad would have been left handed except that his teachers made him use his right like PP's stated.
I had a wooden shoe that we made in kindergarten shop class that I learned to tie my shoes with. I know there was a song that went with it, but I don't remember what it was. I don't hink it had anything to do with bunny ears though becasue I don't make two bunny ears to start, only one (if that makes any sense).
I'm sure my parents help me practice too. But all I remember is that shoe.

This! I don't remember. I might include my brother in there also.
I am!!! I am the only leftie in my family.. I ended up being able to do most things with both hands, but I'm still left dominant. Jim is a leftie too!!! I SO love that about him. Both of us hope Dunc will be a leftie too, but who knows.
My mom and Ms. Bea (who lived with us and helped my mom with us kids, house, cooking, etc) taught me.
