Momma Check In

What's new??

Kiley is getting into EVERYTHING, she thinks she can walk now, which is funny because she totally can't.  She also is finally get her first tooth!!!

Re: Momma Check In

  • Yay Kiley!

Alexander is learning to say please when asking for something. The word may not always sound like please, but at least he is trying. He also says "mine" now. This weekend he would tell his cousin "No, mine, no". We are still working on the two year molars and they are driving my poor boy crazy. Xander hurt his foot yesterday at daycare, so we are watching to make sure it isn't broke. He seems to be ok, but it is still tender and he pulls it away when we touch it.

  • Ooo Ooo ME ME ME!!!!!!!

Felicity is perfect. Seriously, she's a perfect baby. We're SO lucky. Yesterday we introduced her to her bassinet, we'd put her to sleep in it after she had passed out a couple times during the day. She wasn't too impressed the first few times and fussed a little bit, but by the end of the day she kept sleeping in it like a champ. So we were able to put her in there at 1:30am when she fell asleep after a feeding, and she slept until 4:30 woke up, poo'd and ate, then went back to sleep and I put straight back in her bassinet which was around 5:30 and then she slept until 8 this morning. Granted it was only 2.5-3 hour stretches but back to back, and all three of us were sleeping in the bedroom, instead of the couch -- I feel like I had a full nights sleep. Especially since I didn't get a chance to nap yesterday (My mom stopped by at the only opportunity I had to nap).

We've had one real cry fest, it last three hours during a terrible storm in the middle of the night, but other than that she just fusses a little bit and then moves on. She is so easy compared to what I was mentally prepping myself for. Hopefully she stays this perfect baby, and she wont change on us!

But considering she's 5 days old, I feel like last night was a huge success. And I'm really hoping it wasn't a one time deal, and that we can have a similar outcome tonight!

I know! But Felicity's eyebrows and eyelashes are lighter - her eyebrows seem almost blond! So I'm sure her hair will lighten up, maybe go red? I still am holding onto some shred of hope she'll turn into a carrot top.

  • Campbell is doing great. He's completely off bottles now - just in time for his 15 month appointment on the 10th - and it was painless. He's also gone to sleep on his own with minimal crying a few times. I'm so proud of him, he's so amazingly flexible and go with the flow (his father's child).

Kelly and Mar make me feel jealous. I remember being miserable until 10 weeks and I don't remember Campbell being easy at all like you two talk. Maybe it was in my head (or perhaps the pain in my nether-regions).

ETA: and he got his 7th tooth yesterday!

  • Duncan is walking like a champ now and has even figured out reverse and a small jog... I seriously have my hands full as he is everywhere and into everything. He is spending half the day in the one year old room and half in the infant--and he LOVES the one year old room, so I might ask if he can move up even if it is just for a couple of weeks. His babysitter now works in that room so he just loves hanging with her and his gross and fine motor skills are exploding with the other 1 yr olds. He also get to go outside--which is now his favorite place.

Speech still isn't there and I am going to talk to the doctor about it at our next appointment in 3 weeks. I am hoping that all the ear infections will not delay him too much. We had to push back his one year appt.and shots--he got one heck of a sinus infection and just finished up his antibotics... and finally the pedi agreed that it is time for allergy testing and has given him a perscription for infant zertec! Woo Hoo!!!

  • Still one of my favorite ages, I love how independent she is most of the time. However, she has now changed NO to NOPE and mastered flailing herself to the ground and screaming Nope, nope, nope at the same time. Oh and she folds her arms over her chest and flops to the ground to express her displeasure. Luckily neither of those 2 new tricks happen to often.

She is becoming the finger painting queen, she painted her toe nails with it the other day, it was hysterical.

  • We're in sleep he!l. Two weeks ago I was on an antibiotic which had the poor thing pooping all hours of the day and night. Right on the tail end of that she cut her 2nd tooth and it looks like there are 2 more about to come through. We're talking awake 2, 3, 4 hours at night. It sucks.

On top of all that she took her first steps today, which is exciting!! But new milestones always mess up her sleep, I swear we were awake a month straight when she started crawling.

    I'm just really tired.
