Has anyone heard anything about this pre-school?

http://www.villagegreenschool.com/

It is in Seekonk, which is right down the street from home and work.  It looks super cute, fun, and I love the fact that it is in an old school building.

We are thinking of switching Elijah out of the YMCA.  We have loved it there, but we are starting to have issues w/Elijah acting out because they will not advance him to preschool until he is fully potty trained.

He is 3 and 4 months in a room with kids who are 2 1/2 - 3 and he is completely regressing on the PT process we have made, along with acting like younger kids w/tantrums etc.   They are very adamant that they will not move him to PS until he is trained, weather that be when he is 3 1/2 or 5, which is really pissing me off.  They are holding my child back academically and I feel it is starting to hinder his growth there.

Urggg...... please give me your good luck thoughts I can find somewhere great and inexpensive!!! LOL!

Thanks!

  • have you checked to make sure that school will take him if he isnt fully PT'd?

  • I emailed a bunch of questions earlier this AM, but have not heard anything back.  But I figured I would just see if anyone had heard about them.

Not sure if this is true, but it seems RI is very unfriendly when it comes to preschool/PT.

A co-worker mentioned in MA how friendly they have been with it.

    Thanks!1 :)

  • Amanda I know 2 people who have sent their kids there and been happy.  I also heard that from someone who lives in MA that they passed a law where they can't hold back because of potty training (something about discrimination and No Child Left Behind).  If your DS is at a YMCA in mass, you might want to check that out.
  • amanda, i am saying this because i love you and i know you well enough... and because i am a crazy prengnant lady who says exactly what she thinks lately (even if she shouldnt).

just potty train him. i know easier said than done, but really it could be done in a few days- especially if the child is over 3 yrs. do it and then you wont have to worry about switching or finding a school that is pt'ing friendly.

you can ignore me now. or tell me off.

  • Well a big FU to you Erica.... LOL! Joking!

I know, like you said easier said than done!  I don't remember the last time I had a weekend off to this....until now!

I only have 1 small cake this weekend, which is being picked up so we will be trying the naked boy running the house trick.  Wish us luck.  We are having some family over on Saturday, but that should be fine and they will just laugh that he is naked! LOL!
