Human Resources professionals . . .
Do you have a master's degree? If so, do you feel you got the return on your investment? I can't decide if this is something I should pursue or not.
Thanks much!
Re: Human Resources professionals . . .
I don't...I have my BS in Business and HR Mgmt. I opted to work on certifications instead of my masters. I have my SPHR and my CCP.
I don't have a desire to be a Dir or VP so I don't see the value in the masters for me personally.
I just have my bachelor's in HR. I am also working on my certifications this year.
It tends to be the norm that people go for their certification instead.
I have an MBA. I got it right after college, so i benefited immediately in my career by getting a starting opportunity and a starting salary that was way better than just a bachelors in psychology.
It has served me well up until a point, and then most of the rest is about my experience. At this point, that is more of what gets me opportunities and related compensation. I have been in HR for 17 years and I am now a VP.
I also have an SPHR, which I finally decided to pursue after about 13 years in HR.
