I just got a Kindle for my birthday!!!! I'm super excited!
Just ordered it a bright orange case this morning.
Are the ads that show up when it's "off" always going to be there?
Re: New owner of a Kindle :)
Thanks! I didn't know that.
From a little googling it sounds like it might be b/c of the kindle I got...I may pay the extra $25 for an ad free kindle.
You'll have to ask Kindle. I'd probably just suck it up and use the $25 towards more books. But I also hacked mine and got rid of my (non-advertising) screen savers and put on my own.
Hikingnclimbing - How did you hack yours to change the screen savers?? Does that void the warranty?
Thanks, I'll have to look into it. I always wondered why they wouldn't let us load our own pictures for screen savers.
I love love love my kindle! At first I thought I might want the white one, but I like the graphite tons because I don't have to worry about dirty smudges showing up when I toss into my purse of click to change pages. The ads might be annoying, but I'd just put that money saved towards getting new books.
