Trying VERY hard to not be a sore loser

So a bunch of girls at work did a Biggest Loser contest for 9 weeks.  Today was the final weigh in.  I thought I would win for sure because of the baby weight.  As of last Wednesday I would have had to lose 1.7 pounds to match the first place girl.  She doesn't have kids, therefore has more time to plan meals and work out - and get enough sleep!  Well, I busted my butt working out twice a day but only lost 2 pounds because I did not take into account bloating since my period is due by Monday.  She lost 2.4 pounds so clearly she won the $200 pot.

My only consolation is that overall I lost 11.6 pounds in 9 weeks and am within a pound of my original goal weight.  Hopefully I can keep it up.  We will continue the chart for accountability through the holidays and I am very hopeful that I can lose a little more.  But its hard not to be bitter.  I guess I forgot that the lessons we learn as children still apply as adults!

Re: Trying VERY hard to not be a sore loser

  • Aw man that stinks.  But congrats on the weight loss!  Thats fabulous!
  • Well congrats on losing 11.6 pounds. ?I wish I could! ?Boy do I need to work out!
  • Sorry to hear that you lost.  But I would try to look at it as a technicality.  Seriously!  That's so awesome that you lost 11.6 lbs!  You ROCK!  I'm jealous too...I so need to work out myself!

Good for you!  Keep up the good work!

  • Sorry that you lost the competition.  But you did lose weight and that's what matters.  Good for you.  When I first had my daughter I lost 12 lbs, but I've gained it all back and then some.  So look at it as a good thing anyway.  I'm just starting to get back on a strict diet and work out.

  • You lost the weight---and that's the most important thing, right? At this point I'd pay someone $200 to lose 12 pounds!
