So a bunch of girls at work did a Biggest Loser contest for 9 weeks. Today was the final weigh in. I thought I would win for sure because of the baby weight. As of last Wednesday I would have had to lose 1.7 pounds to match the first place girl. She doesn't have kids, therefore has more time to plan meals and work out - and get enough sleep! Well, I busted my butt working out twice a day but only lost 2 pounds because I did not take into account bloating since my period is due by Monday. She lost 2.4 pounds so clearly she won the $200 pot.
My only consolation is that overall I lost 11.6 pounds in 9 weeks and am within a pound of my original goal weight. Hopefully I can keep it up. We will continue the chart for accountability through the holidays and I am very hopeful that I can lose a little more. But its hard not to be bitter. I guess I forgot that the lessons we learn as children still apply as adults!
Re: Trying VERY hard to not be a sore loser
Sorry to hear that you lost. But I would try to look at it as a technicality. Seriously! That's so awesome that you lost 11.6 lbs! You ROCK! I'm jealous too...I so need to work out myself!
Good for you! Keep up the good work!
Sorry that you lost the competition. But you did lose weight and that's what matters. Good for you. When I first had my daughter I lost 12 lbs, but I've gained it all back and then some. So look at it as a good thing anyway. I'm just starting to get back on a strict diet and work out.
