Since my wedding rings were stolen! It burns me up every time I even think about it. I don't think I've told this story, so here's a short version:
DH and I started going to Healthplus at the beginning of the year. Well, they have these "daily" lockers that you can put your stuff in, enter a code into an electronic keypad and lock your stuff up for as long as you are there. They are free to use, so we opted to just use those instead of paying $60 a year for a personal one. BIG mistake.
Apparently there is a master code that housekeeping and a few others know that will open any locker. The ONE day I took my rings off and put them in my bag, they are stolen. It makes me so mad at myself first, bc I usually didn't take them off, but I was working arms that day, and they would pinch sometimes. Well, I didn't realize it until I got home and started to re-pack my bag for the next day, and they were gone! I frantically called the gym (at closing time) and the lady was kind enough to tell me she would wait for me to come and look around.
After questioning everyone in sight, no luck. I am convinced that it was one certain worker, but have NO proof. Just my gut feeling. When I filed the police report, he told me it happened all the time. And they do not tell you that when you first sign up!!! I now know that it would have been so worth it to buy the stupid $60 locker, and I would have my precious rings still!
Re: It's been 5 months to the day...(long)
Oh we left as soon as the month was up! I didn't even think about the BBB. Since the gym is affiliated with the hospital we work for, I thought they might do something about it, but nothing! I called and emailed the director several times, and did not get one single response.
I know they will get what is coming to them...they just better hope I never find out who did it!
I hate that this happened Lindsay. I would continue to contact the gym, call, email and visit the director/manager and indicate that you are more than happy to spread the word of poor management, how things are stolen at their establishment, etc. if he is not willing to help. That's awful, esp b/c you work for the hospital.
We both have exhausted our efforts! We were pretty much told that there is a sign on the wall stating they aren't responsible for lost or stolen personal items, that's the excuse we keep getting. So frustrating!
That also happened after we missed 2 days of our honeymoon cruise due to Delta! We ended up getting 2-$100 vouchers from them, whoopty-doo. After several calls/emails/threats from us, we were told by Delta that they had given our case it's "final review", and that all future responses would be filed. If it hadn't been for our travel insurance, we wouldn't have gotten anything back!
I hope that ended our bad luck streak!
