I saw your post on my wall the other day about DH's doppleganger. Sorry - I kept forgetting to respond! My brain is shot as of late! Have you seen him lately, that's pretty funny!
Also, have you taken the ferry from Seattle to Vancouver? My mum said she'd take my sister and I on a mini trip sometime soon as I can't make it to Boston with them and we're considering flying up to Seattle and going to Canada as I've never been.
Re: Carrie
Haha...I'd forgotten about that, actually!
Nope...haven't seen him since.
I actually haven't been to Vancouver at all. The only times we've crossed the border is for DH's rugby games.
I do know, though, that if we were going to go to Vancouver, we'd just drive. It's a lot more convenient, and it's faster (not to mention cheaper). I looked it up, just to be sure that I'm thinking of it correctly, and to take the ferry, you'd actually have to take the ferry from Seattle to Victoria Island (which I've heard is beautiful and well worth a visit, by the way), then take a bus to a different ferry terminal in order to take a different ferry to Vancouver. Also, know that there is the city of Vancouver, but there's also Vancouver Island. Two very different places.
You can also take the Amtrak train from Seattle to Vancouver.
I hope you guys get to do the trip! I bet it would be a lot of fun. Would you have time to see me?

Oh wait, I should check my facts! Victoria is where we want to go!!! For some reason I thought you had to ferry to Vancouver. So is it better to ferry or drive to Victoria?
Yes, of course we would see you! Not sure when it'll be. Either early August or probably early next year.
Well, Victoria is an island, so you'd have to take a ferry at some point.
It would be easiest and cheapest to go from Seattle to Victoria. This is the popular company that does the ferry trips: http://www.clippervacations.com/
There may be other ferry companies that go there, too, but this is the only one I've actually heard of!
Yay!! I'm glad to hear you might be coming up here! Obviously, you all have other things to consider, but the weather would definitely be nicer in August. Granted, the island itself is in a location that gets a LOT more sun than Seattle, so it would mainly be Seattle and possibly your ferry cruise that would likely be affected by rain.
