Work poll (non clicky)

 Just for fun!

The industry and/or specific job you work:

What is one good thing about your job?

What is one bad thing about your job?

If you could have any other position in your company/field (that didn't require any extra education), what would it be?

  • The industry and/or specific job you work:

Education - Special Education teacher (Resource-math), ARD Vice Chair

What is one good thing about your job?

The look on a child's face when they finally "get" a concept!

What is one bad thing about your job?

     too many women

If you could have any other position in your company/field (that didn't require any extra education), what would it be?

Well, that actually isn't possible unless I taught something different.  If I didn't teach special ed, I'd want to teach 5th or 6th grade math in a general education classroom.

Sono showed no baby and teeny tiny sac. Waiting to M/C naturally.

  • The industry and/or specific job you work:

Law... associate in a small general practice firm.

What is one good thing about your job?

I'm able to be strong for people who can't be strong for themselves.

What is one bad thing about your job?

When things need to get done, it doesn't matter what ny "hours" are, I need to do the work even if it means staying up til 3 a.m. for a week. I'm mucking around in people's lives and I can't play games.

If you could have any other position in your company/field (that didn't require any extra education), what would it be?

    US Supreme Court Justice.

  • The industry and/or specific job you work: Product Manager; Health Management Software Company. What is one good thing about your job? When I design a part of the product and the market and our customers really dig it.What is one bad thing about your job? When I design a part of the product and the market and our customers don't like it so much. :pI'll say 2 bad things- The second is there's this whole notion of when something doesn't work or something is not good- go to product...so we hear a lot of complaining... If you could have any other position in your company/field (that didn't require any extra education), what would it be? Probably the Director of PM position my boss has been talking to me about...although I have to be careful what I wish for...it may be a doozy.

  • The industry and/or specific job you work:

    Title: Rate Change Supervisor

Actual job: Dealing with issues having to do with postage meters and the difference in price from when the postage went up.

What is one good thing about your job?

I actually enjoy coming to work every day.

What is one bad thing about your job?

It's still only a temp job (after 8 months)

If you could have any other position in your company/field (that didn't require any extra education), what would it be?

I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up Smile
  • The industry and/or specific job you work:

Academic advisor for honors students at a 4-year university

What is one good thing about your job?

The people I work with are amazing. I love coming here every day.

What is one bad thing about your job?

Only bad thing I can say is that my summer is pretty much shot since we enroll new students for six weeks. By the time that's finished, it's nearly the middle of July.

If you could have any other position in your company/field (that didn't require any extra education), what would it be?

If I were to stay here, I'd probably aim towards being a director or assistant director of this program or another advising unit on campus. My ultimate goal is to get my master's in higher ed and work my way up. I don't want to be a campus president, but I've considered working in campus life, Greek life or student life.

  • The industry and/or specific job you work: Hospital Administration and Fundraising

What is one good thing about your job? The people who love this place seriously love this place!

What is one bad thing about your job? Still getting acclimated to the culture of philanthropy in the area. Also wearing so many different hats can get stressful when trying to keep track of everything.

If you could have any other position in your company/field (that didn't require any extra education), what would it be? This job doesn't exist, I would actually be really happy writing all internal communications for the hospital (or any hospital) and ONLY doing that.

  • The industry and/or specific job you work:  Theatre management. Specific title is Production and Facilities Supervisor.

What is one good thing about your job? I work for the biggest performing arts venue in town, and I get to see just about every Broadway show that comes through town.  And lots of other cool shows and concerts in between.

What is one bad thing about your job? The hours.  I work lots of nights, and lots of weekends.

If you could have any other position in your company/field (that didn't require any extra education), what would it be? Higher up on the ladder in the department.  I'm the lowest position, but I'm also the youngest, and have been here the least amount of time.  The two people above me have been here 25ish and 30ish years.

  • The industry and/or specific job you work:

Dental web technology and social media

What is one good thing about your job?

I love it. I have flexibility, I work from home, my pay is fantastic. I love love love this job.

What is one bad thing about your job?

Being so removed from the company atmosphere, sometimes you feel like a second class citizen.  Also, with a West Coast based company, and living on the East Coast, my days are typically from 8am-8pm (at least checking email and responding to my Leadership team). That stinks.

If you could have any other position in your company/field (that didn't require any extra education), what would it be?

I'd like to be a corporate liaison to one of our big partners, or a lecturer on a national scale.
