A family member wants to get married in SF. She is looking for a venue that can hold about 250 people. Bonus if the place has an older feel. She is going for a 40's type of wedding. Does anyone have a place to start? TIA.
Re: Wedding Venues in SF
Some people I know just got married at the University Club of San Francisco and the pictures looked nice. I also thought the Palace Hotel was pretty.

We had friends who got married in the rotunda of city hall and had their reception at the Fairmont (If you've got money to spend, it was really nice). We had others who were married at the Carnelian room but I believe it's closed now (and I don't know that it could have handled that large of a group)
There's also the chapel on the Presideo but I don't know how big that is or what reception options there are.
