Re: Happy Thursday
I am ridiculously tired right now due to staying up for the trophy ceremony and media interviews after the Mavs game.
Only 1/3 bosses is here yet, so my morning has been slow.
Thus far I have only been insulted by an article.
Stand up for something you believe in.
It's gorgeous out and I'm here at work on a Thursday. Wahhhh! =(
My boss is leaving for a week and a half, so today is the last time I'm going to be seeing him before he comes back, so he's on my back about touching base on all of my files and it's driving me a little crazy.
That being said, it's 10:30am and I haven't done a single thing yet... ADD FTW!

I'm pretty bummed. I keep hearing that the project I'm working as the "lead" software developer isn't important as the other project that I wanted to be the lead of. I understand why they would pick someone that was more experienced to be the lead of it because the project has a much bigger budget, but it still sucks to hear "oh no one cares about <project>".
But, on a good note, I just hear from Patrick that he passed his CCNA exam. It's a certification that's really important in his field.
I think I'm going to head out at lunchtime.

we're all kind of pissy over here at my house because 1. when we got home from dinner last night, i noticed a paper wasp nest above our back door. wtf?! it's about the size of a ping pong ball so hopefully it won't be too hard to kill all the sons of b!tches, and 2. we had a bat in the basement last night. it's bat #13 or 14 since we moved in, and last year we not only had the chimney fixed and repointed and capped and the whole 9 yards, but we also had the housing bat proofed. shows how effective that was.
the bat also means i don't think we should leave pansy here alone when we go away this weekend, meaning we need to double our travel time on saturday to drop her off at my parents' house (on the plus side, their neighbor offered to stop by and check on pansy if she's there). ugh.

The storms have been nuts in NE Ohio this week. My backyard looks like a warzone.
CB and I have my parents dog this week b/c they're on vacay and I am SO over it. He's so high maintenance, bad, irritating, etc. I'm also house sitting for my friend A while they're on their honeymoon. Have to go over and take care of her cats, who really really hate me. She has the most complicated/difficult to open door and I'm pretty sure her neighbors think I'm breaking in. And I've set off her home ADT alarm already this week. Ugh. After this, I'm not volunteering to watch anyone's animals/house again for awhile.
Not a whole lot. Work is pretty boring lately.
My boss wants to start giving our clients the option of us building their HTML email blasts for them. Who does she want to do that? ME! Do I know how to do that? NO! I have really super basic HTML skills. So now I have to figure out 1) what program we should start using to put together WYSIWYG HTML email blasts and 2) where to take classes to learn the sh!t out of that program.
While it's annoying that she continues to make these decisions and then volunteer me as the person to carry them out, it's kind of cool that I'll get to learn something on the company's dime. I just have to figure out what I'm supposed to be learning.
Ok, so my mom lost her job/roomates kicked her out last month (because she couldn't pay rent since she lost the job), so she showed up on my doorstep with all her crap and proceeded to live here since then. She not only got one job, she got TWO. In one week! I'm really excited about the sooner she makes money, the sooner she is back out on her own. This was her last chance though, the guest room has a few more months to house our summer guests and then it's Baby B's and no one elses.
So since 1st Tri made me tired beyond any hope of doing it, I was so excited when I finally got some 2nd Tri engery... oh wait... then my mom moved in... so we haven't done it in like (gulp) 6 weeks. Well. We did it this morning. And I feel pretty great.
Matt's family is in town for memorial day weekend starting today! It's like being on vacation when everyone comes down for vacation.
I'm tired. I took a 3 hour nap yesterday (only meant for it to be short so I could get rid of a headache) and was up til 2am....so now I need another nap! The vicious cycle continues.
Tomorrow is the last day of school!
Then 4 days of inservice until summer vacation officially starts.
There's a thunderstorm going on. A nice one. Nothing severe. It's even still a little sunny out.
We ate lunch today at a local restaurant and I have a cinnamon roll the size of my head staring at me....I want to eat it, but it's dinner time and I'm still full from lunch.
