I'm now heavily leaning towards trying for a VBAC too.  I need to talk to my Dr. at my next appt. and see if that's even going to be an option with the surgery I just had though.  I don't see why it would be an issue, but who knows.

Did you say that your Dr. still scheduled you a date in the O.R. if you decide you want to go ahead with the repeat CS?

  • I hope she says that you can at least try :)

My dr scheduled time in the OR for 40 weeks.  But she said it was more of a holding spot because it is hard to get time in the OR.  She said that it is just Beaumonts policy, but I could change it if I wanted to.  She keeps saying that I can try for a vbac but she only gave me a 50% chance based on my size, the size that Lucas was, and how his labor went.  She said all labors are different but from what shes seen the best she could give me right now is 50%.  I think I'm going to have her reschedule it for 41 weeks or even later if she can because Id rather be uncomfortable for an extra week than be uncomfortable for months after a RCS if thats the case.  And if I have to have a RCS anyway at least I know I gave my body a chance to try.

I wonder if my Dr. will give me my odds too! I hope so, because that might be nice to know beforehand.  She did mention early on that I could try for a VBAC, but she didn't mention and probabilities, and that was obviously before all that other crap happened.

After recovering from that last surgery, I just really REALLY don't want another recovery like the first one I had.  That's mainly why I was so open to just scheduling another CS, because a scheduled surgery is "supposed" to have an easier recovery than one done after pushing.  However, I think I'll be upset with myself if I don't at least try.  If I end up with another CS, no doubt it'll suck, but at least I know I'll have tried the other way.
