Baby and Mama are fine. I'll give the full birth story on my blog tomorrow and link it here for you ladies. About 8.5 hours total labor.
BabyRN, what is your (first) name? I thought that my nurse was you until she started talking about her children and I'm pretty sure you don't have any yet. Maybe we'll see you later!
Re: Baby Ella is here!
I was hoping to see you but I got called to another room when you guys came into the nursery. I don't know if they told you this but you got the very last room! You lucked out, there were two or three other people about to deliver when you did. I will be there tonight so I might see you, I was on the other end of the floor though last night so I might not.

They did tell me we got the last room. We managed to get one with a full-size bed (or whatever size it is) too, which was great because my sister was up here too! I thought that the couch pulled out to a full-size, but I guess not.
Maybe I'll see you tonight!
Congratulations!
Can't wait to see pics!

Woohoo!! Congratulations, and welcome to the world baby Ella!!
Just curious, BabyRN, what happens to the next person to come in if all the rooms are taken??
The mom has to stay in her labor and delivery room overnight until people leave the next day. It really sucks because those beds are not comfortable. Depending on how busy L&D is, they sometime have them stay over on the MTT area too. The L&D nurse cares for the mom and one of our nurses cares for the baby, so she will either go up and down between floors for all assessments etc, or if the mom wants to sleep we can keep the baby in the nursery last night. When I left this morning there were 5 people backed up waiting for rooms. Once last summer I was there and we were backed up 11 people, it was nuts!

Wow, that's crazy to be backed up by so much! Glad you got a room, Sept!
